Street Style, Toronto: 47 shots from outside the Alexander Wang for H&M launch

Alexander Wang for H&M, one of the most anticipated designer collaborations in years finally launched the morning to much (MUCH) fanfare. With shoppers lining up as early as 5 p.m. last night to get the first crack, the collection of high-function performance-wear is surely to be off all Toronto shelves as I type these words. Before the Toronto Eaton Centre H&M location opened its doors at 8 a.m., we hit the street to capture all the best looks of the shoppers waiting it out in line. Echoing the collection’s athleisure aesthetic, we spotted sporty backpacks, sweats and toques, which was no doubt partly practical, given today’s near freezing temps. Flip through for a dose the fashion mania.

Introducing Kit and Ace: The new luxury tech wear brand from the family that brought you Lululemon

Since launching Lululemon back in 1998, The Wilsons have been at the forefront of the yoga-driven fashion world we call home. 16 years later, and its officially become a family affair with Shannon and JJ Wilson, wife and son of founder Chip Wilson, branching out into their own label of athleisure (clothing appropriate for both athletic and leisurely pursuits), Kit and Ace.

While Lululemon has not been portrayed in the most favourable lightas of late, Shannon is hoping to start fresh with her new brand that capitalizes on something she likes to call “technical cashmere.” Similar to Lululemon, Kit and Ace sells richly-priced T-shirts for men and women ranging from $68-$98. What makes these basics stand apart is their special blend of 81 percent viscose, 10 percent elastine and nine percent cashmere. Yes, that’s right. Now your loungewear can contain a hint of cashmere, making for a ten out of ten on the comfort scale, and the best part is that the product is machine washable (that means no shelling out money on dry cleaning bills).

As for the aesthetic vision of the company, Kit and Ace is steering away from Lululemon’s yoga-inspired outlook by targeting a creative class consumer through casual street wear. JJ claims that the name “Kit and Ace” derives from what they imagine their ideal boy and girl customer would be like. The label’s website even features a blog titled “Meet Kit,” featuring a model sporting the luxury street wear designs while participating in various everyday activities such as leaving cycling class, going for coffee, shopping and more.

First opening a location in Vancouver’s trendy Gastown neighborhood earlier this year, the brand launched their online store, as well as several other Canadian establishments this past week. Toronto received its very own location, at 779 Queen Street West, while Calgary, Saskatoon and Edmonton also opened up their own venues. With further plans for expansion, Kit and Ace has also announced they will be opening two American flagships in New York City and San Fransisco. And while Chip Wilson has received a great deal of flack over the Lululemon scandal that took place last fall, he will remain at a distance from the company offering behind-the-scenes guidance to his wife and son.

4 Reasons to Visit Idaho Now

jav censored doctor

Potatoes and skiing summarize the majority of America’s perception of Idaho’s attributes. Although frequently confused with residents of pancake-flat Iowa, located two doors down in the Midwest, Idahoans take no offense to the error—they actually prefer the anonymity, as it keeps the population and prices down and enables a manageable flow of tourism through their unspoiled state. These same reasons, however, make Idaho a vacationer’s paradise: light crowds, fair prices, easy access to the state’s best sites, and a burgeoning wine scene all add to the state’s allure.
BOISE WINERIES AND THE SNAKE RIVER VALLEY

Boise mirrors the state’s national identity as an overlooked destination, but for wine lovers searching for America’s next grape frontier, one only has to drive a mere ten minutes from downtown to Garden City to find it.

This one-time Chinatown was so named because its residents grew vegetables for pioneers. Now, the industrial zone serves artists, breweries, and wineries seeking refuge in the cheap cost of warehouse space, and the East 44th Street building leased by Cinder Winery is no different. Making a name for Idaho Tempranillo, Cinder shares the tasting room with two others boutique producers: Telaya and Coiled, the latter known for its vibrant Riesling. Split Rail focuses on reds nearby in a former auto body garage.

Prefer to taste wine amidst the vines? Head west to Nampa in the Snake River Valley, the state’s first American Viticultural Area (AVA) just 30 minutes outside of Boise. Most of Idaho’s grapes grow here. Lodging and restaurants haven’t caught up with the nascent wine trail, but most producers have tasting rooms. The region shares similarities with Washington State, so you’ll sample Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Viognier, and Tempranillo. Visit Huston Vineyards, Hat Ranch,Fujishin, Bitner Vineyards (they have two rooms to rent to overnighters), and Sawtooth Winery—plus Koenig Distillery & Winery for potato vodka and fruit brandy, in addition to wine.
KETCHUM AND SUN VALLEY

Ketchum displays just enough polished veneer to suit swanky skiers and snowboarders without compromising its authentic country western roots. Winter sports draw the most attention (no lift lines!), but the area offers year-round pleasures (hiking, biking, fishing, rafting), which means hotels, restaurants, and bars stay open.
jav uncensored xxx av
While Sun Valley Resort has the greatest guest capacity and proximity to the mountain, an ambitious spa and room renovation takes most of the historic lodge offline this winter. An alternate option: the recently refreshed, Alpine-inspired Knob Hill Inn.

Big country breakfasts of fruit pancakes and crispy hash browns fly from the kitchen at theKneadery, a festive joint festooned in western décor of animal heads replete with suspended canoe. Locals lunch at casual Perry’s for reasonably priced sandwiches stacked high on freshly baked bread; at night, the entire town stalks the hostess at Pioneer Saloon in hopes of satisfying cravings for hunks of flame-licked meat and football-sized baked potatoes. Italian Enoteca serves small plates matched with a good wine list inside an urban interior. Swing by Cornerstone for upmarket, creative cocktails. Sunny Valley mornings draw coffee seekers to sleek and roomy Velocio for Intelligentsia espressos and pour-overs.

Before leaving town, pay respect to Hemingway’s gravestone in the cemetery behind Knob Hill Inn; he commit suicide in Ketchum.
SAWTOOTH MOUNTAINS

When’s the last time you gazed up at the sky without tweeting about the rainbow arching across it? Unplug from your overconnected life and head three hours east of Boise into the empty Sawtooth Mountains. Locals claim it has the freshest air in the continental U.S., a compelling argument supported by its blue skies, gin-clear lakes, healthy rivers, and pristine wilderness.

There’s so much to do, you might just leave your iPhone behind. Fly fish the Salmon River with Mary Anne Dozer of Silver Creek Outfitters. She’s a popular hire, so inquire early, but any of their guides will get a trout on your line, whether you’re a newbie or adroit angler. Looking for a new rod? Dozer’s husband painstakingly crafts them from bamboo.

Hikers can access a plethora of trails ranging from easy three-mile meadow circuits to strenuous, alpine lake quad busters. The regional trail map outlines the fitness requirements of popular routes.

Soak sore muscles post-hike in one of several natural hot springs. If you spot steam rising along State 75 just north of Stanley, you’ve found Sunbeam Hot Springs.

Trekking to Stanley without floating on the river is sacrilege to those who’ve experienced it, as this two street town serves as the nerve center for river adventures. Embark on a half- or full-day of rapids with White Otter, or succumb to the wilderness on a five-day Middle Fork float with Idaho River Journeys or Solitude River Trips.
IDAHO ROCKY MOUNTAIN RANCH

You might actually weep for not discovering Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch earlier when you sip wine in a rocking chair on the porch for the first time. Nestled into the Sawtooths, 9 miles south of Stanley, this meticulously renovated ranch and collection of guest cabins is worth the trip to Idaho alone. Many loyal guests return faithfully each season to partake in the region’s activities while indulging in rustic-luxe accommodations at day’s end.

Hiking, horseback riding, and fly fishing the trout-stocked ponds and rivers keeps Ranch guests busy from sunrise to cocktail hour. Learn to mountain bike or tie a fishing knot in one of the daily complimentary clinics. Late afternoons are for soaking in the guests-only hot springs.
JAV163
The meal plan includes hearty breakfasts, packed lunches, and dinners that rotate between themed outdoor BBQs and fine dining nights. Log cabins and lodge rooms provide a taste of western rusticity with the amenities of modern life: stone-tiled showers, heated floorboards, hand stitched quilts, and large stone fireplaces stocked with firewood for guests to light each night as temperatures plummet.

5 Safaris That Help Save Wildlife

jav censored cosplay

It may not make the front pages of newspapers, but the reality is that elephant and rhino poaching have reached an all-time high. Between 2010 and 2012, more than 100,000 elephants were slaughtered for their ivory tusks—that’s over 35,000 a year; in Tanzania, 30 elephants are killed every day. At this rate, these gentle giants will disappear within our lifetime.

So, what can you do to help save African elephants and other endangered wildlife on the continent? The following safaris are tailor-made to safeguard these exquisite creatures, either by contributing a portion of the trip cost to fight poaching, by involving safari-goers in crucial tracking efforts to rescue endangered African wildlife, or by employing local communities in ways that contribute to sustainable co-existence between humans and animals.
SAFEGUARDING A FUTURE FOR AFRICA’S ELEPHANTS (S.A.F.E.)

The S.A.F.E. Travel Collection is comprised of a curated set of itineraries handpicked for their unique interactions with elephants, rhinos, and other endangered species. S.A.F.E. stands for “Safeguarding a Future for Africa’s Elephants” and is an initiative of The Bodhi Tree Foundation, a nonprofit group that mobilizes travelers and tourism professionals to fund grassroots initiatives that protect cultural heritage and conserve the earth's biodiversity. The 11 trips in the S.A.F.E. Travel Collection range from exclusive, high-end experiences such as Andrew Harper LLC and &beyond's 8-day Save The Elephant Botswana safari to Outside GO's hands-on, 10-day filmmaking expedition in Kenya's Northern Frontier. Mention S.A.F.E. on booking and 5–10% of your trip cost will be donated to these four reputable organizations that advocate tirelessly on the ground to protect Africa's dwindling elephant population: the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, African Wildlife Foundation, Save the Elephants, and WildAid.
THE AFRICAT FOUNDATION AND OKONJIMA GAME RESERVE

jav uncensored tokyo hot
Positioned halfway between Namibia’s capital of Windhoek and Etosha National Park, the 55,000-acre private Okonjima Game Reserve is home to The AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit founded in 1991 by a family of conservation-minded Namibian farmers who established a cattle ranch here in the 1970s. Since 1993, AfriCat has rescued over 1,000 cheetah and leopard from rifle-toting livestock farmers, successfully reintroducing over 85% of them back into the wild. The foundation is a major player in Namibia's conservation community as well as a premier luxury eco-tourism destination. (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stayed here in 2006 just before the Namibian birth of their daughter Shiloh.) Safari-goers at Okanjima can track AfriCat's rehabilitated leopard and cheetah as they move freely about the reserve and meet baby "ambassador cheetah," rescued by AfriCat after their mother had been shot and killed by farmers. A visit to the Carnivore Care Centre teaches visitors about the foundation's work as they strive towards the long-term survival of Namibia's predators in their natural habitat. While Okonjima offers accommodation to suit every budget, well-heeled travelers will want to stay at the reserve's secluded Grand African Villa overlooking a waterhole which includes a personal host, private chef, and dedicated safari guide and vehicle.
WORLD WILDLIFE FUND'S GREAT UGANDA GORILLA SAFARI

The world's leading environmental conservation organization, World Wildlife Fund, has been working for more than four decades to save the endangered mountain gorilla and its forest habitat in Central Africa. In partnership with Natural Habitat Adventures, WWF offers a range of gorilla safaris including The Great Uganda Gorilla Safari, on which travelers take multiple treks through Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to experience humbling face-to-face encounters with the majestic mountain gorilla. Visitors will also observe chimpanzees and colobus monkeys in Kibale Forest National Park, spot more traditional African wildlife on game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and venture through the scenic volcano lakes region. Costs from this exceptional wildlife experience assists WWF in developing economic activities that allow people living near the protected gorilla habitat to earn an income without harming the forest resources that the endangered gorillas need to survive.
THE JANE GOODALL INSTITUTE'S CHIMPANZEE EXPERIENCE

United Nations Messenger of Peace and primatologist Jane Goodall is most famous for her 55-year study of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania’s Gombe Stream National Park, which began when she was 23-year old research assistant to renowned Kenyan paleontologist Louis Leakey. Since 2013, the Virginia-based Jane Goodall Institute has arranged escorted 6-day immersive expeditions to the JGI-founded Tchimpounga Nature Reserve, the largest chimpanzee sanctuary in Africa just north of Pointe Noire in the Republic of Congo, which provides care for more than 150 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees. These flexible-by-design trips take place in summer, Africa's dry season, and include hikes around Tchimpounga, interactions with nursery chimps up to three years old, boat rides up the Ntombo River, a visit to the Mâ-Loango Museum in Diosso showcasing Congolese jewelry, art, and architecture, and presentations by JGI wildlife experts. Trips are tax-deductible and funds go towards JGI's mission to preserve the great apes and their habitat through conservation, education and the promotion of sustainable livelihoods.

48 Hours in Memphis

jav censored hd

It may be the historic birthplace of blues, barbecue, and rock 'n’ roll, but Memphis feels anything but antiquated. Nestled next to the mighty Mississippi River, this mid-Southern city is a hotbed of culture that seamlessly blends history with what’s hot in the culinary, art, and music scenes. Here’s how to jam-pack two perfect days with all that the "Blues City" has to offer.
DAY ONE

Get in a Southern state of mind with a hearty, soulful breakfast at The Arcade, Memphis’s oldest restaurant, founded in 1919. With its diner façade, lunch counter, and shrine to Elvis, it’s the perfect spot for digging into filling favorites like sweet-potato pancakes, country-fried steak, and sausage.

Check into the city’s most iconic hotel, The Peabody Memphis, boasting some 464 rooms just steps from Beale Street. In addition to superb service and a luxurious feel, visitors can catch a free show: the quirky March of the Peabody Ducks, an 80-year-old tradition (at 11 am and 5 pm) in which the hotel’s birds march from their rooftop penthouse to the marble fountain in the ornate lobby (or vice versa).

In the afternoon, head to Sun Studio, where music lovers will get the chills—and a few laughs—touring the original recording space of rock icons including Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Take as many photos as you like but don’t kiss the old microphones that touched these legends’ lips. Energetic tours are given every hour from 10:30 am through 5:30 pm.

Spend a few hours wandering the halls of the innovative Brooks Museum of Art, displaying treasures from early American Modernism and the Italian Renaissance, along with works from regional artists. Two major, must-see exhibitions include Cats and Quotes and The Art of Video Games. Have lunch at the museum’s Brushmark Restaurant, featuring a variety of flatbreads, salads, and sandwiches; the space also serves up stunning views of Overton Park.
jav crystal eizou
In the afternoon, head to the South Main Arts District for a taste of what’s truly up-and-coming in Memphis. You’ll find vintage clothes and accessories at charming boutiques like Hoot + Louise and a supposedly haunted juke box at Earnestine & Hazel’s, but don’t leave without taking a tour of theNational Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, the site of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. As part of a $27.5 million renovation that was completed in 2014, the museum added more than forty interactive-media and educational components, making for a truly unforgettable experience.

Restaurant Iris should be on your short list for dinner. Located in a charming Victorian house, the restaurant is overseen by acclaimed chef Kelly English, who shows off his Louisiana roots with heaping portions of roasted marrow bones and his take on surf and turf, a giant New York strip steak stuffed with fried oysters and blue cheese. After dinner, wander down iconic Beale Street, a National Historic Landmark dotted with incredible venues for live blues, jazz, and rock 'n’ roll.
DAY TWO

Head to Brother Juniper's and fuel up with a country-style breakfast of supersized omelets, tender biscuits, and creamy cheese grits at this family-owned café, located near University of Memphis.

Of course, no trip to "Blues City" is complete without a visit to Graceland Mansion. Spend an hour or three, depending on your dedication to the King. Audio tours are self-guided and near-reverential—practically no one speaks as you move from room to room of Elvis Presley’s wonderfully kitschy estate, which is chock-full of music and movie memorabilia. One new feature is the addition of multimedia iPad tours of Graceland, narrated by actor John Stamos, that allow for a richer, more interactive experience. (Reservations are recommended, especially for visits during Elvis Week.)

Have a late lunch at Hog & Hominy, where childhood friends Andrew Ticer and Michael Hudman serve a tasty mashup of Italian-meets-Southern-style cooking. The 50s-era ranch house has a sleek modern interior with an open kitchen that dishes out buzzed-about favorites including a fried-egg-topped "red eye" pizza and a beef-and-cheddar hot dog served on a toothsome pretzel bun. Afterward, ambitious diners can try to work off the calories at the restaurant’s own bocce ball court.

Soul-music lovers shouldn’t resist a visit to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music later in the day. The innovative complex, which includes an on-site charter school, tells the story of the pioneers of American soul, with high-tech listening stations, an in-house dance floor, and plenty of memorabilia from the likes of Ike & Tina Turner, Carla Thomas, and Isaac Hayes (his gold-plated Cadillac is a show stopper).

Make sure your final meal in Memphis is a memorable one: Fill up for dinner on consistently great barbecue at one of Central BBQ’s three Memphis locations. There you’ll find a no-frills atmosphere and counter service, along with the famous Memphis-style ribs, marinated overnight, served wet or dry.

Top 10 African Safari Tour Operators

Recent controversy surrounding the death of Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe at the hands of a big-game hunter has raised an important debate: What is the best way to protect African wildlife? On one side, pro-hunting advocates argue that exorbitant hunting fees fund conservation efforts that would otherwise be underfunded or nonexistent. Meanwhile, other argue that going on game drives (and thereby pumping money into local economies) benefits the animals. But not all safari outfitters are created equally, and some are much less conscious of respecting animals and the environment than others. If you're a responsible traveler who wants to plan an African safari, work with one of these top-rated tour operators, most of which have dedicated philanthropic causes.
